C.S. Lewis and Reality — Mere Inkling

In this increasingly relativistic cauldron we call “the world,” chaos is fueled by the concept that everyone is entitled to determine their own reality. It all depends on one’s perspective. “Perception is reality,” is a common sentiment. More clearly said, “an individual’s perception is their personal reality.” In other words, the way that a person […]

Reasons To Believe : Plant Roots-Fungi Symbiosis Is Multifaceted–by Hugh Ross

Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) nodules, found on the roots of over 80% of all vascular plant species, played a crucial role in facilitating the rapid colonization of the continental landmasses by vascular plants. Without this symbiotic and widespread relationship between AMF and vascular plants, neither soulish animals (birds and mammals) nor human beings would thrive on Earth. Both would lack the necessary supply of food and nutrients. The creation and maintenance of large-bodied soulish animals described in Genesis 1:21 and of humans in Genesis 1:26–27 would be impossible without the symbiotic connection between vascular plants and AMF being established first. This can be done with prayer devotions or parenthood or building nice roads or colourful gardens but in my case, the images are the thing. I believe that there is an appetite amongst a new generation…

James Ross Kelly's avatarSt. John One: One

The Promised Helper (John 14:15-17)

14:15-17 “If you love me, keep my commandments; and I will ask the Father and he will give you another helper to be with you for ever, I mean the Spirit of Truth. The world cannot receive him, because it does not see him or know him. But you know him because he remains among you and will be within you.”

William Barclay 1907-1978 William Barclay 1907-1978

To John there is only one test of love and that is obedience. It was by his obedience that Jesus showed his love of God; and it is by our obedience that we must show our love of Jesus. C. K. Barrett says: “John never allowed love to devolve into a sentiment or emotion. Its expression is always moral and is revealed in obedience.” We know all too well how there are those who protest their love in words…
