All Means All—Even Trump | All Means All- Even Trump

  1. Dear Progressive Christians, deconstructed Christians, post-Christians, and all the rest of you that still identify your beliefs under the influence or guidance of Jesus’ teachings, where are your grace and mercy? I haven’t seen it in many years. I started following your work, I read your books, and I listened to your podcasts so that I could learn to break away from hateful ideologies of fundamental Christianity, particularly Evangelicalism. But lately, all I see is a new batch of fundamentalism and it seems to all be situated on hatred for Trump, those who support Trump, and anyone that you may perceive as a Trump supporter simply because they are white. Prof. Cornel West: Joe Biden a Neoliberal Disaster, Donald Trump a Neofascist Catastrophe! – YouTube

“He’s a neo-liberal disaster he’s milk toast, he’s mediocre, he is a neo-liberal centrist, and he’s tied to wall street, he’s tied to pentagon, he’s tied to militarism, and he was very much responsible for institutional racist prison system, that we’re still coming to terms with in the killing fields on the killing fields of american ghettos and barrios.” Cornell West on Joe Biden, but feels Trump is much worse.

A younger Trump, according to his first wife’s divorce filings, kept and studied a book translating and annotating Adolf Hitler’s pre-World War II speeches in a locked bedside cabinet, [Burt] Neuborne noted. The English edition of My New Order, published in 1941, also had analyses of the speeches’ impact on his era’s press and politics. “Ugly and appalling as they are, those speeches are masterpieces of demagogic manipulation,” Neuborne says.“Watching Trump work his crowds, though, I see a dangerously manipulative narcissist unleashing the demagogic spells that he learned from studying Hitler’s speeches—spells that he cannot control and that are capable of eroding the fabric of American democracy,” Neuborne says. “You see, we’ve seen what these rhetorical techniques can do. Much of Trump’s rhetoric—as a candidate and in office—mirrors the strategies, even the language, used by Adolf Hitler in the early 1930s to erode German democracy.” COMMONDREAMS

The Miserable People by JOHN PAVLOVITZ

These are the wildest of ironies: Their President is in the White House, their politicians commandeer the House and Senate, the Supreme Court is tilted in their favor—and yet they still manage to feel themselves oppressed, still picture the world unfair, still rage against a machine they’ve made and are part of. So many of them claim faith in Jesus, and yet live in almost polar opposition to his example.
